Since 2003, MEA has been at the forefront of Bahrain’s equestrian scene. Now led by Ahmed Abdulrazzaq, the GCC’s first FEI-certified coach, alongside a team of certified instructors, the academy is committed to making equestrian sports accessible while maintaining the highest standards of training.

Our History

We develop disciplined, competitive riders through structured training in flatwork, show jumping, endurance, and dressage. From beginners to advanced athletes, our programs refine technique and prepare riders for competition.

Choose your program—register for a trial class, join our flatwork training, or commit to a discipline package.

Flatwork

  • The foundation of all riding disciplines, refining a horse’s balance, suppleness, and responsiveness to subtle cues, enhancing both performance and trust.

  • Riders from age 4 and above are welcome. We offer two class sections — 4–13 and 13+ — so every rider, child or adult, learns in the right environment.

  • Ideal for beginner and intermediate riders. Flatwork introduces rhythm, control, and posture—laying the groundwork for all advanced disciplines. Riders are encouraged to train at least twice a week for steady development.

  • A strong command of flatwork is essential before progressing to show-focused training. Riders aiming to compete in any discipline should maintain 6 months of consistent flatwork prior to the season.

Dressage

  • Often described as the art of horse and rider communication, dressage focuses on precision, balance, and fluid movements, developing the horse’s natural ability with grace and refinement.

  • Riders from age 4 and above are welcome. We offer two class sections — 4–13 and 13+ — so every rider, child or adult, learns in the right environment.

  • Suited for riders with a solid base in flatwork. Dressage emphasizes posture, pattern memorization, and subtle cues. Training includes both group and private sessions, with 2–3 sessions per week recommended for refinement.

  • Students preparing for dressage competitions are encouraged to begin focused training at least 6 months in advance. Programs typically intensify closer to the season with more technical drills and test preparation.

Show Jumping

  • A discipline where horse and rider navigate a course of obstacles, demonstrating precision, control, and athleticism while maintaining rhythm and balance.

  • Riders from age 4 and above are welcome. We offer two class sections — 4–13 and 13+ — so every rider, child or adult, learns in the right environment.

  • Recommended for confident intermediate to advanced riders with strong flatwork and basic jumping experience. Training focuses on approach, pacing, and jump technique, ideally 2–3 times per week including full-course practice.

  • To prepare for the jumping season, riders should undergo at least 6 months of structured training. Participation in in-house or schooling shows is recommended to build confidence and timing before entering official circuits.

Endurance Racing

  • A long-distance equestrian sport that highlights the horse’s stamina, resilience, and partnership with the rider, covering challenging terrains while prioritizing strategy and horse welfare.

  • Riders from age 4 and above are welcome. We offer two class sections — 4–13 and 13+ — so every rider, child or adult, learns in the right environment.

  • Best suited for advanced riders with a strong foundation in flatwork and trail confidence. Training includes gradual distance building, recovery awareness, and conditioning. We recommend 3 sessions per week, with longer trail rides on weekends.

  • To prepare for the endurance season, riders should follow a structured training plan for at least 6 months. Both horse and rider must build stamina, adapt to various terrains, and practice rest and hydration strategies essential for race day success.
